Mo sighting

So while down the Footy Club yesterday afternoon and after a morning full of beers it turned out that an entire team for the 20/20 cricket comp was not going to show. Tom, the Senior Footy Coach and organiser of the comp, furiously drummed up a team of drunken footy players in no condition to be playing cricket. I'm talking no fit apparel (I played in jeans for half the game!) and no fit co-ordination skills.

Anyway while standing around waiting for the match to start I see a guy looking at my from the other team. Now I'd already been told they were from Macgregor and I already have a history with that club from the old Warehouse days. Anyway turns out the guy looking at me is no other than Maurice. Yup, you read it here, I ended up unwittingly playing a game of 20/20 cricket against Mo.

It took me a few minutes to recognise him at first and even then I wasn't 100% sure it was him. A few more discreet looks and turns out it was him.

Needless to say the footy boys got pantsed comprehensively. I got caught on the fence by a relative screamer as the ball was about to carry for 6 by, yup, you guessed it... Mo.

All in all an interesting afternoon...

Dunc came back after leaving to buy a couch and spent most of our batting innings at square leg talking to Mo. Not something I would have done, and didn't all afternoon, but to each their own.

Plans.

It's that time in the cycle again. It's time to make some plans for getting stuff done. I am an inherently lazy person, so I often get into stages where I realise I've left things to build up for too long and suddenly everything is disorganised and chaotic. Now as much as I love a bit of chaos and hate living to a structure, every now and then I need to force myself back on track. I'm starting to think this is that time...

There are just too many things building up that need to get done. Quite a few things around the house need fixing or cleaning and quite a number of things in my social life need organising and sorting out.

Basically I'm starting to feel like I'm just running from one thing to the next (damn having a busy social life!!) and nothing is ever being achieved. So I'm starting a list and this time I intend on sorting out as much of it as possible.

Wish me luck!

Tiredness.

Well I think I may have discovered the true meaning of the word tired. The weekend was huge as usual down at Indy and with not enough sleep... again as usual. Even Monday morning didn't get as much as a sleep in as I was hoping for. All part of the fun though and completely self inflicted so can't whinge too much :)

Then yesterday I drove Bee out to Gympie so she could look after her mum for a few days who had an operation yesterday and needed someone to help her out around the house.

So now I sit here at work, eyes bugging out of my head, unshaven and scrappy looking and desperately wanting to just rest my head on my arms for a few minutes. Trouble is I'm sure that "few minutes" would become "few hours" if I did that.

Back from Indy

And am shattered. Headache and really need a nap. But don't think that is the best thing to do as I have to go play Poker down the club tonight and might not wake up again.

Stories and stuff to come... for now enjoy a few pics and vids I took from this year's festivities.

God this took longer than I thought...

Pictures.

Oh Christ...

... I thought I was sore yesterday. I am in active pain right now rather than soreness. I can't straighten my arms fully and every step I take while swinging my arms naturally as I walk is painful.

This better be worth it...

Just for Ben.

Another blog entry.

Tonight went out to dinner with Bee's cousin, fiancee and son. They brought her Grandfather from Mackay over who was visiting them. Anyway they had all had a few drinks by the time I got home from work and wanted Sizzler for dinner so off we went. Good time was had by all but I was stuffed with a capital S, T and U for good measure.

Off to Indy tomorrow night, not sure how Bee and I are getting there yet, more on that saga later if I can be bothered. Hoping for another fun filled Indy weekend but am confident of getting that as when has Indy ever let me down? Gonna miss you and your crazy shennanigans this year Ben. Although it will free up one recliner normally taken up by your hung over frame!

Night for now.

Muscles love revenge.

I've found that muscles love to give it back to you if you make them work. A lot like me around the office here I guess! :P

Last night a couple of boys from the footy club popped down to the rooms and did my first weight session. Only worked on biceps and legs, we did the legs without weights, but today my muscles are whinging and complaining all over the place. Even just sitting here in this padded chair my hammys are voicing their disgust with me.

I feel good for having done it. If I'm going to become the power forward I want to be I need to bulk up a bit and be a bit more imposing. Not to mention strength in legs for speed and jumping can only be good.

It is funny walking around today, especially early this morning, and every little hill or step up/down had my muselces quivering from the effort. At least I know I did some work and if I keep it up hopefully I'll get to where I want to be.
